Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri stated that the government is implementing all necessary measures to achieve a 20 percent ethanol blending target in petrol.
Speaking at the India Bio Energy & Tech Expo, Puri urged automobile companies to develop vehicles that are compatible with E100 fuel, according to Moneycontrol.
He commended the automobile industry for both producing new vehicles that meet E20 fuel standards and for their efforts in creating retrofit kits for older vehicles.
Puri also highlighted that India’s ethanol blending program has reached 15 percent in 2024, leading to foreign exchange savings of Rs 99,014 crore over the past decade.
