GAIL (India) has signed a tripartite concession agreement with the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) and Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) to establish a compressed biogas (CBG) plant in Bengaluru, as per a filing with the Indian stock exchanges on Friday.
Under the terms of the agreement, GBA will allocate 18 acres of land for the project, while BSWML will supply 300 tons of segregated municipal solid waste daily. This waste will be processed to produce 12.6 tons of CBG per day.
Additionally, the plant will generate approximately 22 tons of fermented organic manure each day.
The agreement is set to remain in effect for 25 years from the date the project is commissioned.
