Ethiopian Airlines Group signs MOU with Satarem America to partner on production and use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel in Ethiopia

Ethiopian Airlines Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Satarem America Inc. to collaborate on the production and utilization of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in Ethiopia. Under this agreement, Satarem will produce SAF in the country, and Ethiopian Airlines will purchase the SAF from Satarem. This MoU underscores Ethiopian Airlines Group’s commitment to sustainability and marks a significant advancement towards a more environmentally friendly future.

According to the press release, the MoU with Satarem America Inc., a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions, allows Ethiopian Airlines Group to integrate SAF into its operations, significantly reducing carbon emissions and supporting global climate change mitigation efforts. SAF, derived from sustainable feedstocks, is a cleaner alternative to traditional jet fuel and helps lower greenhouse gas emissions.
