Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) announced on Friday that it has secured a power transmission project in Gujarat, which will facilitate the production of Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia in Mundra.
The project, valued at Rs 2,800 crore, is expected to be completed within 36 months, the company confirmed. Titled “Transmission System for Green Hydrogen/Ammonia Manufacturing Potential in Mundra, Gujarat,” the initiative involves upgrading the Navinal (Mundra) electrical substation with the addition of two large 765/400kV transformers. Additionally, a 75 km, 765kV double-circuit line will be built to connect the substation to the Bhuj substation.
This project will expand AESL’s transmission infrastructure by adding 150 cKM of transmission lines and increasing transformation capacity by 3,000 MVA. Once completed, AESL’s total transmission network will reach 25,928 cKM, with a transformation capacity of 87,186 MVA.
AESL won the project through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) mechanism, with PFC Consulting Limited overseeing the bidding process. The project’s special purpose vehicle (SPV) was officially handed over to AESL on March 20, 2025.
This marks AESL’s sixth order win in the current fiscal year, bringing its total orderbook to Rs 57,561 crore.
