India’s Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, engaged in discussions with Russia’s Minister of Energy, Sergei Tysvilev, on Tuesday to review the ongoing collaboration between the two nations. The talks focused on both the upstream and downstream energy sectors, with a view to identifying additional areas for future cooperation.
Puri shared the details of the meeting on social media platform X, stating, “It was a pleasure to welcome His Excellency, Sergei Tysvilev, Minister of Energy, Russia. We reviewed our ongoing cooperation in the energy sector and explored further opportunities for collaboration.”

Earlier in the day, a Russian parliamentary delegation, headed by Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma, met Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan in Mumbai. The meeting took place at the Governor’s residence, Raj Bhavan.
The Lok Sabha Secretariat, in a post on X, confirmed the meeting and noted that Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar also attended the event. Governor Radhakrishnan later shared his thoughts on the visit, posting on X that the Russian delegation had paid a courtesy call at Raj Bhavan. “A Russian parliamentary delegation, led by Vyacheslav Volodin, Speaker of the Lower House of the Russian Parliament (Duma), on a visit to India, paid a courtesy call on Maharashtra Governor C.P.
