Greenlane wins multi-unit order for biogas desulfurization equipment

Greenlane Renewables Inc. has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Airdep S.r.l., has secured a multi-unit purchase agreement worth €1.3 million ($2 million) with a repeat customer in Europe for biogas desulfurization equipment. This equipment is designed to remove hydrogen sulfide (H2S) from raw biogas, thereby protecting downstream machinery.

Greenlane produces biogas desulfurization equipment for various applications, including biogas-to-biomethane and biogas-to-power systems worldwide. In North America, this equipment is marketed under the Greenlane Cascade H2S brand, while it is sold as Airdep DBC in other regions.

According to the press release, Ian Kane, President & CEO of Greenlane, remarked, “Securing this new contract for multiple biogas desulfurization units in Europe highlights the diversity of our offerings and the demand for our advanced technologies. We are well-positioned to provide innovative solutions to our global clients, especially since these desulfurization units can be sold individually or alongside Greenlane’s biogas upgrading systems.”

H2S removal is essential for every biogas project. Our desulfurization technology offers a proven, robust, and cost-effective regenerative solution aimed at minimizing operating expenses.

The process involves several steps: Raw biogas enters a scrubbing tower from the bottom and flows countercurrent to a proprietary chemical solution, with treated gas exiting through the top. The sulfur-rich solution is then regenerated in an oxidation tank, transferred to a sedimentation tank to separate elemental sulfur solids, and finally, the clean, regenerated solution returns to the scrubbing tower for continuous use.

Our biogas desulfurization systems are designed for easy installation and operation, addressing many of the challenges and costs associated with traditional biological scrubbing and media-based H2S removal methods. The elemental sulfur produced during the process can be used as a fertilizer on fields.
