Ence Biogas will invest €120 million to establish six biomethane and fertilizer production plants in Aragon, reported Bioenergy Insights.
The Government Council has declared the project of regional interest. It involves the development, construction, start-up, and operation of six plants across various locations in the Aragon region.
In the province of Huesca, three plants will be situated in the municipalities of San Esteban de Litera, Barbastro, and Alcolea de Cinca. Additionally, two plants will be located in Zaragoza province, specifically in Belchite and Zuera, while one plant will be established in Teruel.
The investment covers the construction of industrial facilities for biomethane and fertilizer production, as well as necessary auxiliary infrastructure and access roads. It also includes power lines to supply energy to the plants and gas pipeline branches for integrating the biomethane into the existing gas network.
While Ence Biogas has not provided specific operational dates for the plants, each plant has its own deadline. The construction phase is expected to last between 18 and 20 months.
