Kirloskar Pneumatic launches Tonalli biogas system for factories, hotels, restaurants

Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Ltd (KPCL) has launched “Tonalli,” a compact biogas solution designed to convert organic waste into energy for captive consumption, the company said as part of its first-quarter FY27 business update.

The system is aimed at addressing the growing need for sustainable energy and efficient waste management, according to the company. It is designed for factories, hotels and restaurants generating between 100 kg and 250 kg of food waste per day, converting this waste into biogas that can be used for captive energy needs.

KPCL said Tonalli would help customers reduce energy costs while improving environmental sustainability, positioning the product as an eco-friendly waste-to-energy solution for commercial and institutional waste generators.

The launch comes alongside the introduction of the A-800 centrifugal compressor under the company’s Tezcatlipoca range during the same quarter, as KPCL continued to expand its product portfolio. The compression business remains the company’s primary revenue driver, accounting for approximately 94 per cent of total revenue, and continues to be its sole reporting segment.

Tonalli marks KPCL’s entry into distributed biogas solutions, reflecting the company’s broader push to diversify into sustainable energy offerings alongside its core air, refrigeration and gas compression business.
