New Delhi: Adani Green Energy Limited has reported a record addition of 5,051 MW of renewable energy capacity in the financial year 2025–26, marking one of the largest annual expansions globally outside China, ANI reported.
With this addition, the company’s total operational capacity has reached 19.3 GW, further strengthening its position in India’s renewable energy sector. The newly added capacity includes 3,409 MW of solar power, 686 MW of wind energy, and 956 MW from hybrid wind-solar projects.
A major share of this growth has come from the massive renewable energy project at Khavda, which is considered the world’s largest renewable energy site. Spread across 538 square kilometres, the project has already reached a capacity of 9,413 MW and is progressing towards a target of 30 GW by 2029.
The company also commissioned 1,376 MWh of battery energy storage systems at the Khavda site within a short span, aimed at improving grid stability and supporting renewable energy integration.
Commenting on the achievement, Executive Director Sagar Adani said the milestone reflects India’s growing role in the global clean energy transition and supports the country’s move towards a low-carbon economy, ANI stated.
The newly added capacity is expected to reduce carbon emissions by nearly 10 million tonnes annually, while the company’s total portfolio could help offset around 36 million tonnes each year.
Adani Green also highlighted its use of advanced technologies, including high-capacity wind turbines and solar modules, along with automated cleaning systems to improve efficiency at its projects.
The company said the expansion keeps it on track to achieve its long-term goal of reaching 50 GW capacity by 2030, while continuing to focus on sustainable growth and energy storage solutions.
In addition, the company has been recognised for its sustainability performance, securing top rankings in both domestic and global assessments within the power sector.
