In a major boost to India’s clean energy manufacturing, Premier Energies Limited has commissioned a 5.6 GW solar module facility in Seetharampur, Telangana, with trial production now underway, Solar Quarter reported.
Spread over 75 acres, the new plant is expected to create around 2,000 jobs and strengthen the country’s solar manufacturing base. With this addition, the company’s total module production capacity has increased to 11.1 GW, placing it among the leading players in the sector.
The facility is equipped with automated production lines capable of producing four high-efficiency modules every 16 seconds. It also uses advanced systems, including artificial intelligence-based monitoring, to maintain quality and improve efficiency.
The plant manufactures G12R TOPCon modules, designed to deliver higher energy output, lower losses and improved durability. These features are expected to help the company serve both domestic and international markets.
Managing Director Chiranjeev Saluja said the commissioning marks an important step in building an integrated solar manufacturing system, while Chief Strategy Officer Sudhir Reddy noted that the expansion supports India’s renewable energy goals and strengthens supply chains to meet growing global demand.
The company said the new facility is part of its broader plan to scale up high-efficiency solar production and contribute to a cleaner energy future.
