Acme Cleantech Solutions has secured supply rights in the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) seventh green ammonia auction under the SIGHT Scheme (Mode-2A). The company will supply Coromandel International Ltd. (CIL), Visakhapatnam, with 50,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) at a discovered price of ₹51.89 per kg, reports Energetica India.
Just last month, Acme Cleantech won SECI’s first-ever green ammonia auction to supply 75,000 TPA to Paradeep Phosphates Ltd., Odisha, at ₹55.75 per kg. With the latest win, the company’s total secured capacity under SECI auctions has now risen to 1,25,000 TPA.
SECI has planned 13 auctions in total under a tender with a cumulative procurement capacity of 7.24 lakh metric tonnes (MT) per year. So far, seven rounds have been completed, awarding a total of 4.6 lakh MT per year. Other winners include NTPC Renewable Energy, Onix Renewable, Oriana Power, Jakson Green, and a consortium of SCC Infrastructure and InSolare Energy, with tariffs discovered between ₹50.75 per kg and ₹55.75 per kg.
Commenting on the outcome, SECI said India is seeing “active participation, falling prices, and rising confidence in the green ammonia sector,” noting that the auction prices now fall in the range of ₹50.75–55.75 per kg, making them globally competitive.
The agency further said that with the backing of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, support from the Department of Fertilizers, and a transparent e-auction process, green ammonia is “well on track to become affordable, scalable, and a key part of industrial decarbonization.”
SECI added that each auction is setting new benchmarks, bringing India closer to its goal of becoming a global leader in green hydrogen and its derivatives.
