Vayona Energy secures first Indian wind power order for 64.8 MW project in Andhra Pradesh

Vayona Energy on Monday announced that it has secured its first order in the Indian market from Oyster Renewable Energy Private Ltd to supply 64.8 MW of wind power capacity for a project in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, The Economic Times reported.

Under the agreement, Vayona Energy will provide wind turbines totaling 64.8 MW, along with a long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) contract. The turbines will be deployed at Oyster Renewable’s wind project in the state.

The deal marks Vayona Energy’s formal entry into India following its acquisition of the business from Siemens Gamesa. The company has plans to expand its onshore wind solutions across India and Sri Lanka.

“We are gearing up to meet diverse customer needs with agility and innovation to serve India’s growing renewable energy landscape. We thank Oyster Energy for their trust as they continue to build their renewable energy portfolio in India,” said Prashant Jain, Executive Vice-Chairman of Vayona Energy.

According to the company, major turbine components will be manufactured and assembled at Vayona Energy’s facility in Mamandur, near Chennai. Supplies for the Kadapa project are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026.
