Union Minister Jitendra Singh to introduce Nuclear Energy Bill 2025 in Lok Sabha

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, will introduce The Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India Bill, 2025 in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. The proposed legislation aims to promote the development and safe use of nuclear energy across key sectors. Singh will also seek the House’s consideration and passage of the Bill.

The legislation intends to encourage the use of nuclear energy and ionising radiation for power generation and applications in healthcare, agriculture, industry, research, and environmental protection, while maintaining a robust regulatory framework to ensure safety and security.

On the same day, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will introduce the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025 in the Lok Sabha during the winter session. The Bill aims to create a rural development framework aligned with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, providing a statutory guarantee of 125 days of wage employment each year to rural households whose adult members volunteer for unskilled manual work. It also seeks to promote empowerment, growth, and resilience in rural areas. Chouhan will move for the Bill’s consideration and passage.
