Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy has emerged as the lowest bidder for a major solar project awarded by Coal India, marking a significant addition to its order book.

The contract involves setting up an 875 MW (AC) grid-connected solar photovoltaic project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, on a turnkey basis. The total value of the project, including operations and maintenance and taxes, is estimated at around Rs 3,490 crore, Energetica India reported.

In addition, the company has secured another order for a 50 MW AC solar project in Maharashtra from a private independent power producer.

With these new wins, Sterling and Wilson’s total EPC order inflow for FY26 has crossed Rs 10,062 crore, surpassing its initial target for the year.

Global CEO Chandra Kishore Thakur said the company is pleased to secure its first project from Coal India and looks forward to supporting its expansion into renewable energy.

He added that India continues to see strong growth in the renewable sector, and the company aims to maintain its momentum as one of the leading solar EPC players in the country.
