Skill training programme: Focus on biogas technology

Commencing on Monday, a training program titled ‘Biogas Technology for Sustainable Fuel and Organic Manure’ kicked off at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), as part of the ‘Bioenergy Programme’ sponsored by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).

The inaugural ceremony of the four-day program took place at the Biogas Development and Training Centre (BDTC) within the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering (DREE) at the Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute (AEC and RI). Dean A. Raviraj presided over the event.

Dean Raviraj highlighted the significance of recent advancements in biogas technology, emphasizing its role in meeting energy demands sustainably and fostering a pollution-free environment.

Professor and head-cum-coordinator of BDTC, D. Ramesh, explained that the objective of the training program was to equip participants with the necessary skills in biogas technology. Attendees from various districts across the state were present at the event.
