The government of Rio Grande do Sul has selected 12 companies to move forward to the third stage of its Green Hydrogen Production Chain Development Programme, reports Renewables Now.
The state will offer subsidies of up to BRL 30 million (USD 5.5 million / EUR 4.7 million) per project, with total planned support reaching BRL 102.4 million.
Out of 16 proposals submitted, 12 have been cleared for the next phase. Four projects had already been approved earlier — Tramontina, Riograndense Oil Refinery, Begreen Bioenergia e Fertilizantes Sustentaveis, and Ambar Sul Energia S/A. Following a review, eight more companies have now qualified: BE8 S.A., Leal Consultoria e Inovacoes, Sandero Industria e Comercio de Produtos Quimicos, RenoBrax Campanha Energia Renovaveis, Infravix Engenharia, Verdhe Engenharia do Hidrogenio, Rodoplast Industria Comercio de Componentes Plasticos, and RD Locacoes.
Next, the projects will undergo technical and financial capacity evaluations by the Specialised Technical Committee and the state development bank Badesul.
The programme is aimed at strengthening the green hydrogen supply chain in Rio Grande do Sul for both domestic use and export, while positioning the state as a national leader in the low-carbon economy.
Details of the results and all project information are available on the ProClima 2050 website.
