ORSL and PRESPL sign MoU to jointly develop bio-gas and CBG projects

ORSL, a technology-driven company specialising in waste valorisation and bioenergy solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Punjab Renewable Energy Systems Pvt. Ltd. (PRESPL) to jointly develop and execute Bio-Gas and Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) projects across India and potential international markets, reports Energetica India.

Under the agreement, ORSL will serve as the preferred partner for technology, engineering, procurement, and construction (TEPC) services, using its in-house innovations and expertise in waste-to-energy and biofuel projects. PRESPL will act as the preferred partner for biomass supply chain management, leveraging its extensive experience in biomass sourcing, logistics, and fuel management.

Both companies will collaborate to identify, pursue, and implement Bio-Gas and CBG projects, providing end-to-end integrated solutions — from feedstock assessment and supply chain logistics to technology deployment and plant operations. The partnership aims to combine PRESPL’s strength in biomass management with ORSL’s technological and engineering capabilities to ensure reliable, efficient, and sustainable project execution, the companies said in a joint statement.

Sarang Bhand, Managing Director of ORSL, said the collaboration marks a key step in the company’s growth. “This partnership represents a major milestone for ORSL. By working with PRESPL, a leader in biomass management, we aim to create integrated bioenergy solutions that make a strong contribution to India’s green energy ecosystem. It reinforces our commitment to deliver sustainable, end-to-end project outcomes,” he said.

Lt. Col. Monish Ahuja (Retd), Chairman and Managing Director of PRESPL, said the collaboration aligns with the company’s vision of turning India’s waste and biomass streams into drivers of clean growth and energy independence. “Our partnership with ORSL brings together innovation, execution strength, and shared purpose to transform the Bio-Gas and CBG landscape. This alliance reflects our mission to develop sustainable bioenergy models that create environmental value, economic resilience, and social impact while supporting India’s Net Zero goals,” he said.

ORSL has developed proprietary technologies and implemented several large-scale waste management and bioenergy projects across India. PRESPL provides biomass solutions to power plants, independent power producers (IPPs), and industrial clients, along with consultancy and O&M services for biogas and boiler systems.

The partnership supports the Government of India’s renewable energy goals, particularly under the Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) initiative, which promotes CBG as a cleaner fuel alternative, the companies added.
