Nava Limited on September 24, 2026 announced that its step-down subsidiary, Maamba Solar Energy Limited (MSEL), has commissioned a 100 MW solar power plant in Zambia and started supplying power from the plant to the Zambian grid.
The Hyderabad-based company disclosed the development in a press release filed with the stock exchanges under the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) listing and disclosure regulations. According to the release, MSEL has a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with ZESCO Limited, Zambia’s national power utility, covering the entire output of the plant.
The company described the commissioning as a strategic milestone that marks the group’s formal entry into utility-scale renewable energy and widens its business beyond its traditional core sectors. It said the move reflects a deliberate diversification strategy aimed at positioning the group to take part in the global shift towards clean energy and at building a scalable platform for future renewable ventures in different geographies.

He said the milestone reflected the company’s commitment to sustainable growth and reinforced its aim of building a diversified, future-ready energy portfolio across geographies.
According to the release, MSEL is a Zambia-based renewable energy company held through Nava Global, the group’s international arm. Nava Global holds 65 per cent of MSEL, while the remaining 35 per cent is held by ZCCM Investments Holdings PLC (ZCCM-IH), a Zambian investment holding company.
