The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) is implementing the R&D Scheme, issued via an Order dated March 15, 2024, to promote indigenous technology development for the widespread deployment of Green Hydrogen and its derivatives in an efficient and cost-effective manner across the country. The scheme will strengthen the research and innovation capacity of the country.
MNRE has invited proposals under the R&D Scheme from eligible entities. Details related to eligibility, financing, application form, etc., are provided in the Appendices (Check the notification below). The last date for submission of applications is April 12, 2024.

The National Green Hydrogen Mission was launched on January 4, 2023, with an outlay of Rs. 19,744 Crore, aiming to make India a Global Hub for the production, usage, and export of Green Hydrogen and its derivatives. It will contribute to India’s goal of becoming Aatmanirbhar (self-reliant) through clean energy and serve as an inspiration for the global Clean Energy Transition.
Under the Mission, an outlay of Rs. 400 crores has been allocated for Research and Development activities. As part of the R&D efforts under the Mission, the R&D roadmap was launched on October 7, 2023, and the R&D Scheme for Green Hydrogen was launched on March 15, 2024. The R&D Scheme aims to scale up the R&D effort to promote indigenous technology development for the widespread deployment of Green Hydrogen Technology in an efficient and cost-effective manner across the country. The program will strengthen the research and innovation capacity of the country in the Green Hydrogen sector.
