Minister Kondapalli urges to set up five biogas units in each Mandal

Vizianagaram: In a bid to enhance the income of rural households, Minister for MSME Kondapalli Srinivas has directed the district administration to establish five biogas units in each mandal, reports The Hindu.

During a review of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) works, the minister urged the district Collector and officials to focus on improving civic infrastructure through the effective use of allocated funds.

He stressed the importance of taking up development works such as strengthening tank bunds, building concrete roads, constructing farm ponds and cow sheds, and setting up nurseries under MGNREGA.

“If the scheme is implemented in letter and spirit, migration would come down,” Mr. Srinivas said.

As part of a public grievance session, the minister also received several petitions from residents and assured prompt action to address their concerns.
