Madhya Pradesh: GH2 Solar to set up green hydrogen unit in Morena

The state is set to make a major stride in renewable energy with the establishment of a green hydrogen production unit in Piparseva, Morena. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday laid the foundation stone for the project, calling it the start of “a new industrial revolution, a new energy revolution, and a new Madhya Pradesh,” reports Saurenergy.com

The facility, being developed by GH2 Solar Limited across seven acres, will produce green hydrogen and integrate technologies such as hydrogen and battery energy storage. The project is expected to generate 500 direct jobs and create numerous indirect employment opportunities.

Yadav highlighted that leading companies from South Korea and the United Kingdom are providing technical support for the Morena unit. He also linked the project to broader industrial growth in the Gwalior–Chambal region, noting investment commitments of ₹3,500 crore at the recent Regional Tourism Conclave in Gwalior, as well as Gautam Solar Pvt. Ltd.’s plans to set up a ₹4,000-crore solar cell manufacturing unit.

The state government is further developing a network of industrial areas and parks to attract investments in renewable energy and allied sectors.

The Bhoomi Pujan ceremony was attended by New and Renewable Energy Minister Rakesh Shukla, MP Shivmangal Singh Tomar, project promoter Anurag Jain, along with industrialists, public representatives, and citizens.

The initiative builds on Madhya Pradesh’s push for global collaboration in clean energy. Earlier this year, the state sought investment commitments from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in electric vehicles, smart manufacturing, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and food processing.
