Inox Wind secures 1.5 GW turbine supply pact from Inox Clean to support renewable expansion

Inox Wind Limited (IWL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Inox Clean Energy to supply 1,500 MW of wind turbines for renewable energy projects planned across India, strengthening the group’s integrated clean energy expansion strategy.

Under the agreement, Inox Wind will supply its latest 3.3 MW and 4X MW wind turbine generators for projects being developed by Inox Clean Energy through its independent power producer (IPP) platform and solar manufacturing business.

The turbine deployment will support a growing renewable energy pipeline across multiple project locations and is expected to improve operational coordination across the group while creating stronger long-term business visibility.

The arrangement also gives Inox Wind access to a sizeable internal demand pipeline, helping reduce exposure to market cycles and improving revenue predictability.

The MoU follows the rollout of the INOXGFL Group’s “One Integrated” renewable energy strategy, designed to create an end-to-end renewable energy ecosystem spanning manufacturing, project development, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), along with operations and maintenance services.

The strategy integrates the capabilities of Inox Clean Energy, Inox Renewable Solutions (IRSL), Inox Green Energy Services and Inox Wind to improve project execution and build recurring revenue opportunities across the renewable energy value chain.

Inox Clean Energy has expanded rapidly since entering the renewable energy sector and currently operates a portfolio of around 3.5 GW developed within two years.

The company plans to add more than 3 GW of renewable energy capacity annually and is targeting a total operational portfolio of 14 GW by FY29.

According to the company, wind energy is expected to contribute around 20–30 per cent of annual capacity additions, potentially creating recurring turbine demand for Inox Wind over the coming years and supporting future business growth.

The announcement follows Inox Clean Energy’s acquisition of Vena Energy India’s 6 GW renewable energy portfolio, marking the company’s tenth strategic acquisition in the last ten months.

Across its renewable energy generation and solar manufacturing businesses in India, the United States and Africa, the broader INOXGFL Group has committed investments exceeding ₹50,000 crore as it expands its clean energy footprint.
