India Energy Week 2025 to be second largest energy event globally: Hardeep Singh Puri

India Energy Week (IEW) 2025, set to take place from February 11-14, 2025, at Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, New Delhi, will become the second-largest energy event in the world, according to Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas. The event is expected to surpass 1 lakh square meters in exhibition space, with expanded participation, showcasing India’s growing influence in global energy discussions.

IEW 2025 will feature global leaders, including Ministers, CEOs, and industry experts, in a series of sessions and exhibitions that aim to set new standards in the energy sector. Shri Puri, speaking in Mumbai, also highlighted the Clean Cooking Ministerial as a significant side event, aiming to accelerate the adoption of clean cooking solutions globally. India’s successful Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) will be presented as a key model for addressing global energy access challenges.

The exhibition area will see a 65% increase, expanding to 28,000 square meters, while the number of conference sessions will rise to 105. More than 70,000 global delegates are expected, and over 500 speakers, including prominent international figures, will take part. The conference will feature 10 country pavilions, including representations from major energy players like the U.S., UK, Russia, Japan, Germany, and the Netherlands, as well as 8 thematic zones covering hydrogen, renewables, biofuels, and petrochemicals.

In addition to global energy leaders, IEW 2025 will host more than 20 foreign energy ministers and deputy ministers, along with heads of international organizations and 90 CEOs from Fortune 500 energy companies. The event’s growing international profile underscores India’s leadership in shaping the global energy transition.

Shri Puri also emphasized the inclusion of youth and innovation, with leading Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), startup platforms such as “Avinya” and “Vasudha,” and 500 students from Delhi/NCR set to showcase cutting-edge technologies and solutions.

IEW 2025 will spotlight key themes such as energy security, just and orderly transitions, global collaboration, resilience, capacity building, and the digital transformation of energy. The event will further highlight India’s role in driving sustainable and affordable energy access, reinforcing its commitment to global energy equity.

With its expansive scale and focus on innovation, India Energy Week 2025 is poised to solidify India’s role at the forefront of global energy transitions, positioning the country as a catalyst for positive change in the energy sector.
