Gruner Renewable Energy bags projects worth Rs 1500 crore for compressed biogas plants

Noida-based Gruner Renewable Energy announced on Tuesday that it has recently secured multiple projects totaling Rs 1,500 crore for compressed biogas (CBG) plants across India.

According to a company statement, Gruner will develop CBG plants valued at ₹1,500 crore throughout India, collectively producing over 88,000 tons of compressed biogas annually for the Indian market.

The projects are strategically located in various cities including Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), Satna (Madhya Pradesh), Balasore (Orissa), Navsari (Gujarat), Yavatmal (Maharashtra), Vijayawada, and Rajahmundry (Andhra Pradesh), among others.

Gruner secured 11 projects worth Rs 1,100 crore from prominent Indian business conglomerates, and an additional 19 projects valued at Rs 400 crore from individual business leaders.

To facilitate the smooth operation of these projects, Gruner plans to hire around 900 professionals and skilled laborers, increasing its workforce to a total of 2,500 employees, including site workers, by the next quarter. These employees will be stationed at various locations, including the corporate office in Noida, Delhi NCR.

“By capitalizing on our current order pipeline, we aim to decrease India’s expenditure on crude oil imports by Rs 8 billion ( Rs800 crore),” said Utkarsh Gupta, Founder & CEO of Gruner Renewable Energy.

Established in February 2023, the company currently manages a portfolio of 30 ongoing projects nationwide.

With a forward-thinking strategy, Gruner aims to increase its project count to 100, targeting a new order value of Rs 5,000 crore by the end of the current financial year.
