To boost the Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) sector in the country, the Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE) and the World Biogas Association (WBA) have entered into a strategic partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on July 10, 2025, during the World Biogas Summit & Expo held in Birmingham, UK.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Vaibhav Dange, Founder Director, IFGE, and Ms. Charlotte Morton OBE, Chief Executive, WBA.
The partnership will focus on strengthening the biogas/CBG ecosystem in India through global best practices and policy guidance, promoting innovation, investment, and the adoption of anaerobic digestion and CBG technologies and collaborating on programs, missions, events, studies, and capacity-building initiatives.
IFGE will lead on-ground efforts in India, while WBA will provide international expertise and support through its global network.
Both organisations emphasised that this partnership marks a significant step toward decarbonization, driving the shared vision of a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
Speaking on the occasion, Vaibhav Dange said, “This collaboration reflects our joint commitment to fostering global cooperation in renewable and bioenergy and building a resilient biogas economy in India.”
This cooperation would be fruitful for the members of IFGE in terms of expanding their businesses, capacity building, life cycle assessment, and understanding the global practices in the CBG Sector.
