In a major step towards strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s industrial and agricultural landscape, Keyaan Distilleries Pvt Ltd inaugurated its stateof-the-art 300 KLPD grain-based distillery, scalable up to 500 KLPD. The facility was inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, reaffirming the state’s commitment to green growth, rural development, and investment-led transformation, according to the press release.
Designed, engineered, and commissioned by Praj Industries Ltd, a global leader in industrial biotechnology, the facility will produce fuel ethanol and rectified spirit for medicinal use using broken rice, maize, and corn as feedstock. The project strengthens the agro-processing sector and contributes to India’s ethanol blending roadmap.
Spread across 30 acres, the distillery is expected to create over 1,200 direct and indirect jobs, while providing consistent demand for local grains—empowering farmers and integrating them into the clean energy value chain.
During the inauguration, CM Yogi Adityanath praised the project for enhancing energy security, promoting foreign exchange savings through reduced crude imports, and setting the stage for advanced green fuels like Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). He lauded both Keyaan Distilleries and Praj Industries for building a world-class facility that aligns with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
As the technology partner, Praj Industries has delivered an integrated, future-ready distillery solution, combining high efficiency with environmental sustainability. With over 1,000 successful projects globally, Praj continues to drive innovation and transformation in the bioeconomy sector.
The inauguration marks a defining moment in the journey toward a self-reliant, energysecure, and agriculturally empowered India.
