Ceigall India Limited (CIL) announced on September 22, 2026, that its wholly owned subsidiary, Ceigall Green Energy MH2 Limited, has commissioned another 5 MW solar power plant at Ranjangaon Deshmukh in Kopargaon taluka of Maharashtra’s Ahilyanagar district, according to a company press release and stock exchange filing.
The latest addition takes the subsidiary’s operational solar capacity at the site to 10 MW. The company said this was achieved ahead of the project’s scheduled commissioning timeline.
The first 5 MW unit at the site had been commissioned earlier, well before its scheduled date, the company said. That early completion made the project eligible for the early commissioning incentive under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 (MSKVY 2.0).
According to the release, the commissioned capacity is connected to the 33/11 kV Ranjangaon substation of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. (MSEDCL), and the power generated is being sold to MSEDCL.
The 10 MW now operational forms part of a larger 147 MW solar power project that Ceigall Green Energy MH2 is developing and executing under MSKVY 2.0. The Government of Maharashtra scheme aims to strengthen decentralised daytime solar power supply to agricultural feeders across the state.
Ramneek Sehgal, Chairman and Managing Director of Ceigall India Limited, said the commissioning of the additional capacity well ahead of schedule reflected the execution discipline the company brings to its projects. He added that, as Ceigall scales up its presence in renewable energy, the milestone reinforces its commitment to supporting Maharashtra’s clean energy goals while building a diversified and “future-ready” infrastructure portfolio.
The company described the commissioning as a significant milestone in its expansion into renewable energy, saying it further strengthens its presence in solar power generation. Ceigall said it remains focused on growing its renewable energy portfolio, including utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, as part of its wider infrastructure growth strategy.
