Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Fortune Global 500 company and one of India’s top oil and gas firms, has entered into a strategic partnership with Reliance BP Mobility Limited (RBML) to accelerate the growth of the City Gas Distribution (CGD) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) sales sectors.
This significant collaboration underscores BPCL’s commitment to Project Aspire, a forward-thinking initiative aimed at driving future growth and supporting the development of a sustainable energy infrastructure in India. The official agreement was signed by Shri Rouf Khan, Chief General Manager – Projects & Marketing, Gas at BPCL, and Shri Sanjay Pandita, Head of Gaseous Fuels at RBML. Key figures from both companies, including Shri Subhankar Sen (Director – Marketing, BPCL), Shri Rahul Tandon (Business Head – Gas, BPCL), Shri Sarthak Behuria (Chairman, RBML), and Shri Akshay Wadhwa (CEO, RBML), were present at the ceremony.
Shri Rahul Tandon, Business Head – Gas at BPCL, emphasized, “Ensuring that the end customer receives our product is key to our broader vision of fostering a gas-based economy. This partnership will accelerate our efforts toward this national objective.”
In a similar vein, Shri Akshay Wadhwa, CEO of RBML, added, “Our outlets attract high footfall, which will drive a boost in CNG sales in the region and support India’s transition to a gas-based economy.”
The partnership marks a crucial step in making cleaner, more affordable fuel alternatives accessible across India, aligning with the Indian government’s goal to raise the share of natural gas in the country’s energy mix from 6% to 15% by 2030. This collaboration reflects the shared commitment of BPCL and RBML to promote sustainable mobility and foster the adoption of cleaner energy solutions.
