Ruzo Green Energy has announced it will set up a new compressed biogas plant in Uttar Pradesh, which will use locally available organic waste to produce clean fuel. The facility will run on a process designed for solid waste and aims to keep production costs low while maintaining high efficiency, reports Energetica India.
The company plans to include artificial intelligence to help manage the plant. The system will handle tasks like organizing the incoming waste, monitoring the equipment, predicting repairs before problems arise, and checking the quality of the output.
As part of its efforts to improve the technology behind the project, Ruzo Green Energy has formed a partnership with the Department of Chemical Engineering and Technology at IIT-BHU. The collaboration will focus on research in clean energy and ways to capture carbon emissions.
The biogas plant will mainly use cow dung from nearby cattle shelters as its raw material. In return, Ruzo will give 25 percent of the money it earns from selling organic fertilizer—a byproduct of the process—back to those shelters. This is aimed at helping local farms and encouraging better care of livestock.
Ruzo Green Energy has already signed a deal with a leading oil company to buy more than ₹110 crore worth of the gas produced at the plant. The company has also secured ₹2 crore in its first funding round to help get the project off the ground.
“We’re excited to bring this project to life. It’s not just about producing clean energy—it’s about helping rural communities grow stronger,” said a spokesperson for Ruzo Green Energy.
