Residents of Ghungrali village in Ludhiana district expressed their appreciation for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s efforts to ensure that the upcoming biogas plant would not lead to any pollution in their village, reported The Tribune.
A delegation, led by Sarpanch Amritpal Singh and Hardeep Singh, met with the Chief Minister at his office. During the meeting, Mann assured that an oversight committee, including all relevant stakeholders, would be set up to monitor the project’s progress and ensure its compliance with environmental standards.
The Chief Minister further stated that the plant’s owners had entered into an agreement with the government, committing to adhere to all prescribed norms. He also mentioned that the Punjab Pollution Control Board would closely supervise the plant’s operations to ensure strict adherence to environmental guidelines.
