IndianOil and EverEnviro form Joint Venture to boost biofuel adoption and CBG production in India

In a significant move to promote sustainable energy solutions in India, IndianOil, the ‘Energy of India, has signed a Joint Venture Agreement with EverEnviro Resource Management Pvt. Ltd., a leading biofuels company. The partnership will establish a 50:50 joint venture aimed at advancing biofuel adoption across the country.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Santanu Gupta, Executive Director of Alternative Energy at IndianOil, and Mr. Mahesh Girdhar, MD & CEO of EverEnviro. The signing ceremony was attended by several IndianOil executives, including Mr. N Senthil Kumar, Director of Pipelines (with additional charge of Director of P&BD), Mr. Alok Sharma, Director of R&D, and Mr. Arvind Kumar, Director of Refineries. Also present were Mr. Pravin Dongre, ED of Sustainable Development at IndianOil, and Mr. Deepak Agarwal, ED of EverEnviro, along with other senior officials from both organizations.

The joint venture will focus on leveraging advanced biogas technologies to convert organic waste into Compressed Biogas (CBG), a clean and renewable energy source. This initiative will significantly cut down greenhouse gas emissions and provide a sustainable alternative to conventional fossil fuels. By combining their expertise, IndianOil and EverEnviro aim to accelerate the deployment of CBG plants throughout India.

These efforts are in line with IndianOil’s long-term low-carbon development strategy and its target to achieve operational Net Zero by 2046, contributing to India’s broader goal of reaching Net Zero by 2070. CBG offers multiple advantages, including enhancing energy security by reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels and supporting the rural economy through job creation.
