Jakarta: Indonesia’s Manpower Ministry has trained 60 prospective solar power assessors through a technical competency certification programme aimed at supporting the country’s target of installing 100 gigawatt-peak (GWp) of solar capacity, Antara News reported.
The three-day programme, which concluded on Saturday, was organised across three centres in West Java and Banten: Public Vocational High School 1 Garut, the Indonesia University of Education in Bandung and the Centre for Vocational and Productivity Training in Serang. Each centre hosted 20 participants.
The training covered rooftop solar installation, power plant inspection and testing, and advanced system maintenance.
Organised in collaboration with the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) and the Renewable Energy Professional Certification Body, the programme brought together instructors, academics and vocational teachers from 18 educational institutions.
Manpower Ministry Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity Darmawansyah said developing renewable energy infrastructure must be accompanied by efforts to build a skilled workforce capable of meeting industry requirements.
