Belgium approves Sunoil Biodiesel for sustainable fuel supply

Dutch biofuel supplier Sunoil Biodiesel has secured the necessary approval to supply its sustainable biofuels in the Belgian market, marking another step in the company’s expansion across Europe, Manifold Times reported.

The company said Belgium has joined a growing number of European markets where it is approved to supply its biofuels.

“Belgium now joins the growing number of European markets in which we are approved to supply our biofuels, another important step in strengthening our position as a reliable supplier across Europe,” Sunoil Biodiesel said in a social media post.

The company said entering a new market requires more than commercial opportunities, with suppliers needing to demonstrate strong traceability and robust sustainability systems while meeting local regulatory requirements throughout the supply chain.

Sunoil said the systems it has established provide a strong foundation for further expansion in European markets.

The approval comes as the company continues to develop its biofuel operations and applications. Sunoil Biodiesel’s inland barge Birjo II has been operating successfully on B100, following its conversion to run entirely on biodiesel.

The conversion was carried out in collaboration with BFT Tanker Logistics, allowing the inland barge to operate on B100 bio-bunker fuel.

The company’s expansion into Belgium adds another market to its European supply network and strengthens its presence in the region’s growing sustainable fuels sector.
