Bengaluru: netiBIO, the bioenergy division of STEER World, has been honoured with the “Breakthrough Technology to Pre-Condition Biomass and Agri Residue for Value Creation in Bioenergy and Biofuels” award at the 5th BBB International Expo and Summit 2026, held recently at IICC Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, according to a press release issued by the company.
The award recognises netiBIO’s work in addressing a core operational challenge facing India’s Compressed Biogas (CBG) sector: improving the digestibility and conversion efficiency of biomass and agricultural residue feedstock before anaerobic digestion. The company’s pre-treatment technology is designed to improve feedstock processing efficiency and support higher biogas yield potential, with the capability to enhance yields by up to 2.1X under suitable operating conditions.
The recognition was received by Mr. Rajaraman DC, Chief Business Officer, Bioenergy Division, STEER World. The award was presented by distinguished industry and policy leaders including Anand Kumar, IAS (Retd.), Honorary Chairman, India Energy X and Former Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE); Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, IAS (Retd.), Honorary Chairman, BBB Expo and Summit and Former Secretary, MNRE; and Gaurav Kedia, Chairman, Indian Biogas Association and Lead Partner, BBB Summit and India Energy X.
Nitin Gupta, Executive Director & Global CEO, STEER World said, “Improving biogas yield from existing biomass and agri residue is one of the most practical ways to strengthen the economics of CBG plants in India. This recognition means a great deal to our team, and it reinforces our focus on building pre-treatment solutions that are not just technically sound but operationally deployable at scale.”
netiBIO’s technology is aimed at enabling more effective utilisation of agricultural residue, improving feedstock processing efficiency, and supporting scalable waste-to-value operations for CBG plant operators across India. The solution is designed to integrate practically into existing plant workflows, supporting India’s broader push to scale up renewable biogas production.
The BBB International Expo and Summit, organised by the Indian Biogas Association alongside Indus Exposium and Reveille Energy, is one of India’s foremost platforms for bioenergy policy, technology, and investment, backed by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
