India: Odisha government gives approval to solar and wind projects of 178 MW

The Odisha government has approved new solar and wind energy projects with a combined capacity of 178 megawatts, involving an investment of ₹869.8 crore, according to an official statement. The clearance was granted by the Energy Department’s single-window committee on Wednesday, reported PTI.

The list of approved projects includes a 69.5 MW solar park by Prozeal Green Energy Limited, to be developed at Biramaharajpur in Subarnapur district, and a 49.5 MW solar plant by INOX Solar Limited in Telkoi, Keonjhar district.

Additionally, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) received the go-ahead for a 10 MW solar project at Lakhanpur in Jharsuguda, while NLC India Renewables Limited secured approval for a wind energy project at Papadahandi in Nabarangpur district.

With the latest approvals, the total renewable energy capacity greenlit by the committee now stands at 1,844.86 MW, supported by cumulative investment commitments amounting to ₹12,599.79 crore, the statement added.
