The Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) has released its Statement of Essential Facts on imports of hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) biodiesel from the United States, according to the press release.
The investigation, which began on 17 March 2025, focuses on HVO biodiesel — also known as renewable or green diesel.
After reviewing evidence that subsidised imports are harming UK biodiesel manufacturers, the TRA has outlined its planned final recommendation for a fixed duty, proposing countervailing duties ranging from £257.80 to £303.56 per tonne.
The TRA has invited interested parties to submit their comments on these initial conclusions through the Trade Remedies Service by 19 December 2025.
In a separate decision, the TRA has closed its parallel investigation into dumped HVO biodiesel imports from the US, stating that there was not enough substantial evidence to prove dumping.
