Telangana sets up executive council to attract investments in automotive and EV sectors

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has constituted a dedicated executive council for the automotive and electric vehicle (EV) sectors to attract investments and promote industrial growth in the state, The Times of India reported.

The council will bring together industry representatives and government officials to discuss investment opportunities, expansion plans, infrastructure requirements and policy measures to support the growth of these sectors.

The first meeting of the council will be held at the state secretariat on November 11 under the chairmanship of Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. Around 25 representatives from leading automobile and EV companies, along with other stakeholders, have agreed to participate.

The meeting will review the investment plans, ongoing projects, proposed investments and expansion strategies of companies operating in the automotive and EV industries.

Minister Prabhakar said the government would also seek suggestions from industry representatives on policy changes, infrastructure development and other requirements for industrial growth.

The council will encourage major companies to participate in the investment expo being organised as part of the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026. The summit is scheduled to take place from December 7 to 9 at Bharat Future City.

The council will also finalise topics for dedicated discussion sessions on the automotive and EV industries during the summit.

Officials said the initiative aims to improve coordination between the government and industry representatives and create a supportive environment for fresh investments.

The first meeting is expected to help identify investment opportunities and prepare a roadmap for expanding Telangana’s automotive and electric vehicle industries ahead of the global investment summit.
