SEDL partners with Jakson Green on India’s first 4G ethanol plant

Spray Engineering Devices Limited (SEDL) has announced a strategic partnership with Jakson Green to develop India’s first 4G ethanol plant. Located at NTPC Green, this groundbreaking facility will leverage LanzaTech’s innovative gas fermentation technology to transform captured carbon dioxide (CO2) and green hydrogen into sustainable biofuel, marking a major milestone in India’s biofuel and renewable energy sectors.

Vivek Verma, Managing Director of SEDL, expressed his pride in contributing to this landmark project. “SEDL is honored to bring our expertise in distillation and dehydration technologies to this pioneering initiative,” he stated.

He further emphasized the significance of the project, saying, “This collaboration highlights our commitment to advancing sustainable innovations and supporting India’s renewable energy transition. We believe this 4G ethanol plant will set a new standard for future biofuel production, helping pave the way for a cleaner and greener future.”

Jakson Green will be responsible for the design, construction, and operation of the plant’s carbon capture and green hydrogen production facilities. The plant will utilize LanzaTech’s second-generation bioreactor, marking a key advancement in India’s biofuels industry and setting a precedent for the global biofuel market.

This initiative aligns closely with India’s ambitious renewable energy targets and underscores the potential of 4G ethanol to revolutionize the biofuels sector. Unlike traditional biofuels, which rely on food-based feedstocks, 4G ethanol offers a more sustainable, cost-effective solution by reducing the pressure on food crops while contributing to the nation’s green energy goals.

With this partnership, SEDL and Jakson Green are playing a critical role in shaping the future of India’s biofuels industry, bringing new solutions to the global fight against climate change.
