Hydrogen equipment manufacturer RCT GH Hydrogen GmbH (RCT Hydrogen), a subsidiary of the RCT Group, will begin producing electrolyser stacks in Thuringia, Germany, in early 2026, with a targeted annual manufacturing capacity of up to 250 MW, reports Hydrogen Central.
The company also plans to roll out megawatt-scale green hydrogen projects aimed at industrial customers, according to a statement shared on social media. RCT Hydrogen offers alkaline pressurised electrolyser technology and focuses on supporting medium- and large-scale green hydrogen developments. Its business model includes hydrogen-as-a-service, enabling customers to access hydrogen solutions without upfront capital investment.
“The ramp-up process has commenced, and transitioning to local production in Germany is a significant step towards facilitating cost-effective and reliable green hydrogen production in Europe,” the company said.
RCT Hydrogen is headquartered in Constance, Germany, and was established in 2024 through a strategic partnership between RCT Holding and China-based Jiangsu Guofu Hydrogen Energy Equipment (Guofuhee). In 2023, the two partners announced plans to set up a 1-GW electrolyser manufacturing facility in Germany, underscoring their long-term commitment to expanding Europe’s green hydrogen supply chain.
