Peak Energy launches 65 MWp solar project in Philippines to boost clean power and decarbonization goals

Peak Energy, one of Asia’s leading clean renewable energy developers and Independent Power Producers (IPP), is strengthening its footprint in the Philippines with a new 65 MWp greenfield solar development. The project, located in Isabela province in the Cagayan Valley region of northeastern Luzon, is set to play a key role in the country’s decarbonization and energy security efforts.

Expected to become commercially operational in the first half of 2027, the solar facility will produce over 68,000 MWh (68 GWh) of clean electricity annually — enough to power approximately 23,000 homes. The project will also reduce carbon emissions by around 37,000 tonnes per year, equivalent to taking about 8,000 cars off the road.

Peak Energy will engage directly with major corporate customers seeking long-term clean energy agreements. This approach aims to accelerate the Philippines’ transition to a greener energy mix while helping local businesses meet their decarbonization goals at scale.

The Philippines continues to offer a highly favorable environment for renewable energy, with recent regulatory reforms and enhanced incentives attracting increasing private investment in the sector.

This latest initiative reinforces Peak Energy’s position as a reliable partner in the country’s energy transition. It highlights the company’s ability to deliver large-scale, high-quality solar developments in a market where such opportunities are becoming increasingly limited.

“This project illustrates how we approach our regional development: focusing on high-quality sites, securing the fundamentals fast, and ensuring projects meet the expectations of our customers,” said Gavin Adda, CEO of Peak Energy. “The Philippines offers a rare combination in Southeast Asia: strong solar potential and a regulatory environment that actively supports renewable energy deployment. These conditions give us confidence that we are delivering meaningful solutions for businesses looking to decarbonize at scale, and that we are well positioned to continue doing so as demand for reliable clean energy grows.”

Regionally, Peak Energy holds around 300 MW of operating assets and has over 1 GW of projects in development across Asia-Pacific. In the Philippines, in addition to utility-scale projects, the company is also expanding its portfolio of rooftop solar solutions tailored for commercial and industrial clients.

Peak Energy’s strength lies in delivering adaptable, high-quality renewable solutions to meet the unique sustainability goals of businesses — whether they are just beginning their decarbonization journey or pursuing advanced climate strategies. This flexibility, combined with engineering expertise and strong execution, positions Peak Energy as a trusted partner for companies seeking dependable, affordable clean energy.
