Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have invited a tender for the supply of approximately 88 crore litres of Denatured Anhydrous Ethanol for the fourth quarter of the ESY 2024-25.
The tender document specifies bidders shall quote ethanol quantities in Kilo Liters (KL) to be supplied by them against the requirement of OMCs, feedstock wise – quarter wise for the period of 1st August 2025 to 31st October 2025 in this quantity bid. The validity of bids will be till 31-07-2025.
The deadline for bid submissions is 13th December 2024.
The quantity bids for Q4 of ESY 2024-25 are being opened for registered bidders, following the long-term ethanol procurement policy.
According to the tender, the ethanol quantities awarded under this bid will be procured at the prevailing rates of ethanol for ESY 2024-25, as set by the OMCs or the Government of India.
The document outlines that ethanol produced from various feedstocks—such as sugarcane juice, sugar, sugar syrup, B Heavy Molasses, C Heavy Molasses, damaged food grains, and maize—will be procured by OMCs. Bidders are required to offer their total ethanol quantity for each feedstock and period, ensuring the combined total does not exceed their licensed production capacity.
Bidders have the option to quote quantities for ethanol from one or more feedstocks. However, Dedicated Ethanol Plants (DEPs) can only quote for the feedstocks specified in their Long-Term Offtake Agreements (LTOAs).
In a previous tender cycle, OMCs allocated approximately 837 crore litres of ethanol from 970 crore litres of offers submitted by manufacturers for ESY 2024-25 – Cycle 1. OMCs had initially invited tenders for 916 crore litres of ethanol for the same period.
