Neste to supply SAF to DHL Express at Singapore’s Changi Airport in one of Asia’s largest sustainable aviation fuel deals

Neste and DHL Express, the world’s leading international express delivery company, have deepened their partnership with a new agreement to supply 7,400 tons (equivalent to 9.5 million liters) of unblended Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel™ to DHL at Singapore Changi Airport, starting in July 2025. This represents one of the largest SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) supply deals in Asia’s air cargo sector and supports both companies’ shared commitment to lowering greenhouse gas emissions from air transport.

Under this expanded global agreement aimed at decarbonizing both air and road logistics, Neste will provide CORSIA-eligible* SAF, produced at its Singapore refinery—the largest SAF production facility in the world. The fuel will be supplied over a 12-month period, from July 2025 to June 2026. This deal marks one of DHL’s largest SAF purchases in the Asia-Pacific region and is also its first direct procurement of SAF for flights operating from Singapore to destinations across Asia and the Americas.

The SAF, blended with conventional jet fuel, will be delivered directly into the fuel infrastructure at Changi Airport through Neste’s integrated supply chain. The blended fuel will comprise roughly 35% to 40% of the total fuel mix used by DHL Express’ five Boeing 777 freighters stationed at the company’s South Asia Hub at Changi. These aircraft operate 12 flights per week out of Singapore.

“This partnership with Neste is a major step forward for us in reducing emissions from international air cargo operations,” said Christopher Ong, Managing Director of DHL Express Singapore. “It reinforces our pledge to offer greener shipping solutions to our customers. As one of the world’s top users of SAF, DHL Express continues to lead in sustainable logistics, not just meeting industry expectations, but actively shaping them.”

Carl Nyberg, Senior Vice President, Commercial, Renewable Products at Neste, added, “We’re pleased to extend our collaboration with DHL to Singapore—an important aviation hub in the Asia-Pacific. This partnership highlights our SAF production and delivery capabilities and shows how we’re supporting DHL globally in achieving its aviation decarbonization goals with a solution that’s available and scalable today.”

This agreement also aligns with Singapore’s broader efforts to lower carbon emissions in the aviation industry, including a national target of 1% SAF use across all commercial and cargo flights starting in 2026.
