Musser Biomass partners with Trex company on sustainability initiative

Musser Biomass has announced a new partnership with Trex Company, the world’s largest producer of wood-alternative decking and a leader in recycled materials, reports Lesprom.

Musser Biomass runs one of North America’s most advanced low-temperature drying systems, which reduces energy consumption while maintaining wood fiber quality. The company said the collaboration with Trex will extend the life cycle of resources and promote a circular economy.

Trex operates the NextTrex program, which collects and recycles everyday plastic films, preventing them from ending up in landfills and repurposing them into composite decking. The updated packaging under the program is set to roll out nationwide soon.

Musser Biomass specializes in premium wood pellets and engineered bedding, produced with advanced drying and screening technology. Trex, based in the United States, is the world’s largest maker of wood-alternative decking and residential railing products.
