K2 Ethanol Pvt. Ltd, a prominent player in the biomass and biofuel sector, has selected ANDRITZ to design and construct integrated ethanol and animal-feed production facilities in India.
According to the press release, the project includes the nation’s first ethanol plant powered entirely by agro-residue, contributing to India’s renewable energy objectives and promoting the sustainable utilization of agricultural by-products
This greenfield development will feature an ethanol distillery with a capacity of 150,000 liters per day and an animal-feed pellet plant capable of producing 400 tons per day. The multi-grain processing complex aims to meet the rising domestic demand for ethanol and animal nutrition products, while supporting government policies that encourage ethanol blending with petrol and the adoption of sustainable feed alternatives.
“This is an important project, not just for us and the local economy, but also for national and international sustainability goals,” said Rajpal Yadav, Director at K2 Group of Industries. “We chose to partner with ANDRITZ due to its proven expertise in large-scale technology implementation, process knowledge, and understanding of local market dynamics.”
Under this major contract, ANDRITZ will have full responsibility for engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning (EPC) and will draw on its extensive experience managing large capital projects across the Asia-Pacific region.
“This initiative demonstrates how advanced biofuel and feed technologies can enhance energy security while promoting sustainable agriculture,” said Pavan Kumar Pawar, Vice President, South Asia, ANDRITZ Feed & Biofuel. “We are proud to bring our engineering excellence, integrated solutions, and global experience to help set a new benchmark for combined ethanol and animal-feed production in India.”
The value of the contract has not been disclosed but is included in ANDRITZ’s order intake for the third quarter of 2025.
