Illegal biodiesel stock seized at Borgi Khurd; goods worth rs 20 lakh confiscated

Jath: Umdi police have seized a large stock of illegally stored biodiesel in the limits of Borgi Khurd village (Jat taluka) along the Ahilyanagar–Vijayapur national highway. The operation led to the confiscation of goods worth around Rs 20 lakh, reports Sakal.

According to the police, nearly 19,000 litres of biodiesel valued at about Rs 13 lakh were seized, along with other materials worth approximately Rs 7 lakh. Late into the night, Umdi police and officials from the Jat supply department were in the process of registering a case in connection with the seizure. One suspect has been taken into police custody.

Based on information received from the police and local residents, the biodiesel was being illegally transported from Karnataka and stored in iron tanks on agricultural land in Borgi Khurd. The fuel was then being sold illegally from the site.

Further investigation is underway to determine the extent of the illegal operation and to identify others who may be involved in the case.
