Gujarat: Adani Green Energy announces operationalisation of 112.5 MW of renewable energy projects at Khavda

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has announced that it has started operating 112.5 megawatts of new renewable energy projects in Khavda, Gujarat, reports Energetica India.

The power was added by two of AGEL’s smaller companies. One company started an 87.5-megawatt solar plant, while the other began operating a 25-megawatt hybrid power plant.

In an official statement, the company said, “With the start of these plants, Adani Green’s total operational power generation capacity from renewable sources has now grown to 16,598.6 megawatts.” This new addition in Khavda, a region known for hosting some of India’s biggest renewable energy sites, represents an important step in the company’s growth plan.

Adani Green, which is part of the larger Adani Group, has been actively working to increase its clean energy portfolio, which includes solar, wind, and hybrid projects located in several states. The development in Khavda is anticipated to make a major contribution to India’s national goals for renewable energy and help move the country away from a dependence on fossil fuels.

This follows the recent start of operations for another 408.1 megawatts of renewable power at the same Khavda site, which was also achieved through several of the company’s other subsidiaries.
