HH2E has awarded Gerbrüder Karstens a €45 million ($50 million) contract to jointly develop a green hydrogen production facility in Lubmin, Germany.
Under the agreement, Karstens will handle all structural and civil engineering aspects of the plant and work with regional partners to support local economic development.
Construction of the Lubmin plant will commence once the project receives approval under the German Federal Immission Control Act (BlmschG) and HH2E’s shareholders make the final investment decision (FID).
The plant is expected to start with a capacity of 100 MW and is designed to be scalable up to 1 GW, aligning with the capacity plans for all hydrogen production projects HH2E intends to develop across Germany.
