Elogen, a subsidiary of GTT Group, has delivered a 2.5 MW PEM electrolyser for the Baseload Power Hub (BLPH), a renewable energy project linked to the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm in the Netherlands, reports Hydrogen Today.
Developed by CrossWind—a joint venture between Shell and Eneco—the BLPH will integrate wind power with green hydrogen production to enhance energy system flexibility. Initially conceived for offshore use, the hub will be installed onshore in Eemshaven, where it will convert surplus wind energy into hydrogen during peak generation periods and reconvert it into electricity when demand rises.
The electrolyser delivery follows a successful on-site integration test confirming performance and operational readiness. Ordered in February 2023, the unit underwent a 17-week commissioning phase, completed ahead of schedule before the platform’s early August departure.
“Completing this in just 30 months highlights the agility of our teams and the robustness of our technology for dynamic energy systems,” said Eric Minaux, CEO of Elogen.
