EF Polymer, an innovative deep-tech startup founded by Ankit Jain, Puran Singh Rajput, and Narayan Lal Gurjar, has successfully completed the second close of its Series B funding round through a third-party allotment. The round has garnered strong interest from investors across various industries, bringing the total funds raised to $17.8 million USD. This milestone underscores the company’s commitment to scaling sustainable innovation on a global scale.
EF Polymer has developed 100% bio-based super absorbent polymers made from agricultural waste to tackle one of the world’s most pressing issues—water scarcity. These biodegradable polymers significantly enhance soil water retention, reduce irrigation needs, and help farmers thrive in drought-prone areas.
To date, EF Polymer has sold 500 tons of its products globally and upcycled over 5,000 tons of agricultural residues into eco-friendly, high-impact solutions. This success highlights the company’s role as a leader in “Made in India” innovation, gaining recognition globally. The company’s technology has even been lauded by both the Prime Ministers of India and Japan, underscoring its international relevance and impact.
“This funding is not just a financial achievement; it’s a testament to the purpose-driven progress we’ve made,” said Narayan Lal Gurjar, Co-founder of EF Polymer. “We are deeply grateful for the trust our investors have placed in us and are committed to providing sustainable solutions that improve lives and restore ecosystems.”
EF Polymer is already running demonstration projects in drought-stricken regions of France, Spain, Italy, and Portugal. The new funding will be used to ramp up research and development efforts, expand manufacturing capabilities, and strengthen its presence in key global markets like Japan and the United States.
In addition to agriculture, EF Polymer is exploring new applications for its groundbreaking technology. The company plans to extend its bio-based innovations into the cosmetic sector, developing thickeners, ice packs, and absorption sheets. These efforts demonstrate EF Polymer’s dedication to leveraging bio-based science for everyday, sustainable products that make a positive environmental impact.
