Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu on Thursday outlined India’s initiatives to promote sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and enhance gender inclusivity in the aviation sector, reports The Economic Times.
Speaking at the 42nd General Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal, Canada, Naidu also discussed India’s potential leadership in global aviation and its contributions to the ICAO Council. He met with ICAO Council President Salvatore Sciacchitano and Secretary General Juan Carlos Salaza, among others.
“I emphasised to the ICAO leadership the firm steps India is taking on Sustainable Aviation Fuel and for greater participation of women in aviation to make the sector more gender inclusive,” Naidu said in a post on X.
The minister also held meetings with aviation counterparts from Angola, Japan, and Nigeria. During these discussions, he highlighted India’s commitment to strengthening international civil aviation, enhancing air connectivity, and supporting aviation capacity building for countries in the Global South.
